Acabo de ver que en Aviles cayo la version de Love, que puta envida, vale que el Black to Comm de MC5 en Sanse (y Madrid) fue brutal, pero es que August es topisima!!!(incluso me gusta mas que la original).

Que buen gusto y que bien les quedan la versiones joder, con Wishbone Ash igual.

Hi psychonauts!

Summer is coming on strong and whatever bit of the world that still went to work ….will soon not.

No rest for the wicked though, and both we, our team and our record company friends are busy preparing the next Motorpsycho album for release! This album is called The All Is One, and will be released on 2xLP, 2xCD as well as digitally through both Stickman Records and Rune Grammofon on August 28, 2020.

The cover art is once again by Håkon Gullvåg, and this time around is art painted esp for us! It is a long album that features music from two sessions we did last year. The first session included our favourite Stockholmian Norwegian Reine Fiske, and took place in Black Box Studio in France in September. The second, featured two of our favourite Norwegian musicians, Ola Kvernberg and Lars Horntveth, and was a brief three day affair at Ocean Sound Studio on the Norwegian west coast in November.

At the center of this album is a long 5 part piece featuring some of the most radical stuff we’ve done on record in a while, but if the prospect of a 42 minute piece for ballet inspired by paintings, alchemy and the tarot seems too daunting, there is also a handful of loosely related shorter songs to get into. For us this is obviously just different views and tangents of the one thing, but you will all make of it what you will, and hopefully it will all make some sort of sense to you however deep you choose to go.

We guess the details – cover, song titles and whatnot – will be made public as summer moves along, so watch the various relevant spaces for relevant info and hang loose – it’ll be worth the wait, we promise!

Llevo unos 30 minutos (de 84) y lo de esta gente no es ni medio normal

Una horaca y media de disco, por cierto.

Pues tengo el culo torcido, sobre todo con la parte central de 42 minutos. Lo he puesto en casa y el crío de 3 años se ha pegado unos bailes guapos que lo hemos flipado.

estoy con él, y pinta muy bien, pero vamos, que estoy empezando. Lo que si que he visto es que todos los links están caidos. ¿algun alma caritativa?

A mí el tema dividido en 5 actos no me entra y se me hace eterno. Me parece que se les ha ido un poco de las manos.

El resto del disco muy bien, pero ese tramo (que es medio disco)...y más después de un inicio de álbum brutal.

Para mí vuelven los Motorpsycho de Champions: los de tiempos del heavy metal fruit y Death unicorn.

Con The Tower y The Crucible volvieron a la buena senda pero aquí están a un nivel colosal.Al contrario que Roy, el tema en 5 actos me flipa.

A mi me pasa igual. El tema de 5 actos me parece espectacular... Y luego empalman con otras 2 que son brutales.

Me he unido al equipo Motorpsycho muy tarde, concretamente con The Tower. Y de momento no he escuchado nada anterior en su discografía que supere ninguno de los 3 últimos. Tengamos en cuenta que con los discos que descubres a los grupos se tiene especial vínculo.

Algo parecido me pasó con YOB, por cierto.

Le seguiré dando, que duda cabe, que sólo llevo 3 escuchas.

Pero si es verdad que tanto The Tower como The Crucible me entraron genial ya de primeras. Y este me está costando esa parte.

Ayer los escuché por primera vez con el disco "The crucible" y ya voy por la tercera escuchar del disco. No tengo mucha paciencia a día de hoy con los temas larguísimos (me llaman más discos como "In Absentia" de Porcupine Tree, que son elaborados y con detalles pero sin alargarse demasiado) pero este me ha entrado muy bien. Me gusta mucho más el sabor progresivo clásico que cuando suena más toolero-stonero.

Nada, solo eso, que muy bien. Acepto recomendaciones para seguir.

En otro orden de cosas, el 16 de abril nuevo disco.

Espero que mejore el último, porque aunque venga que lo intenté no acabó de subirme en ningún momento...

MOTORPSYCHO Announce New Album “Kingdom of Oblivion”!


Hard times call for big riffs. And, it seems, also for big news:
Not only was Motorpsycho’s 2020 album “The All is One” nominated for a Spellemannprisen (a Norwegian Grammy) in the Best Rock Album category, but just recently the band also announced a new Motorpsycho album titled Kingdom of Oblivion!

"It is clear to us that TAIO reached a pretty wide audience, and we are as grateful as ever for all of you taking the time to listen to what we do." Comments the band on their homepage. "It is really imporant to us to not become an oldies band merely dealing in nostalgia, and the only way we can avoid that is by forging ahead and trying to make music that is true to who we are. When you lot show your appreciation by buying the new records and not just baying for the old schlägers, that makes it all feel worthwhile and important, and that is all we can ask. Thank you!
On that subject … we have a new record coming out in a couple of months!"

The release date has been slated for April 16th, 2021 through Stickman Records, Kingdom of Oblivion will be available on 2LP, CD and digitally. While the pre-sale is scheduled to start on Friday, March 5th, watch out for many more details and a first single to follow in the weeks ahead!

El tema de adelanto me ha parecido de una falta de inspiración tremenda para ser ellos...

Si ya el anterior trabajo me dejó frío, miedo me da que se me caigan más con lo que amo esta banda

envidia sana... ahora que estoy investigando en su discografía, me doy cuenta de que me están gustando sus trabajos más excéntricos, y este es uno de mis preferidos... esas secciones de viento son maravillosas...

no es una banda en la que sea sencillo entrar... a mí me ha costado varios años... pero vamos, que este hecho no tiene porque querer decir nada... jajaja

Si no es mi favorito muy muy poco le falta, y si no lo es es por los temas de ruiditos/pasajes y tal, que le restan cierto empaque y presencia al disco (en ese sentido Still Life with Eggplant me gusta más o menos igual y es "más disco"). En cualquier caso "The Hollow Lands" podría tranquilamente ser mi canción favorita (junto a otras 10, me temo) y eso son palabras mayores con este grupo.

Por acotar un poco, para mí el trío "The Death Defying Unicorn", "Still Life With Eggplant" y "Behind the Sun" me parece insuperable, y para un top5 metería al Heavy Metal Fruit (transición de lo anterior) y el Phanerothyme, que no es para nada mi sonido/estilo pero que es tan bestia ese disco, que es imposible no meterlo en ningún top. Con mención especial para Little Lucid Moments (transición a la transición) y el Let Them Eat Cake, que me gusta casi unirlo con el Phanerothyme, porque es casi lo mismo pero sin la extrema finura del segundo.

Y como el que no quiere la cosa he mentado 7 (siete!!!!!) pedazos de discos en un momento, y porque me he dejado unos cuantos fuera. ¿Cuántas bandas pueden presumir de tener 10 discazos en su discografía? A mí se me ocurren MUY pocas.

Acabo de escuchar el nuevo, por cierto, y me ha dejado un poquillo así. Vamos a ver, que ya sabemos que Motorpsycho necesita (muchas) escuchas.
