Mick Mars : The Other Side Of Mars (2024)

MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars plans to release at least an EP of solo material once the band has completed its "Final Tour", with the possibility of even more songs surfacing in the years to follow.
During an appearance on the March 3 edition of Eddie Trunk's show "Trunk Nation" on SiriusXM's Hair Nation, Mars was asked if he had any plans to pursue a solo career once MÖTLEY CRÜE was done touring.

"Loyalty is kind of important to me, but I mean, doing side projects and everything else, [there is] nothing wrong with it at all," Mars said. "But I have my own stuff that I have been stashing for a long time."

Regarding what shape his debut solo release will take, Mars said: "I can honestly say that I am going to release at least an EP. As far as a whole album right now, I won't release a whole album 'till I think every single one of my songs is an 'A' song. And I've got a shitload of songs, and they're all 'B' songs, 'C' songs… I'll give them to, like, baby bands coming up, TV commercials, movies, soundtracks, whatever the heck, but I will not put them on my record until I believe in my heart that they're 'A' songs, that when you hear them, you have to have all of them. You know what I mean? No fillers. If I hear a filler in there or anything I think is a filler? No. But then, who am I to judge? Then you release singles."

He continued: "I have about six songs… I mean, I have way, way more than that, but they're all, like… to me, they don't matter. They're laying there. I mean, stacks. And I have a studio in my house, of course, and I go down there almost every day. And just in the past week or so, I've written six new songs which I believe are pretty much on their way to being 'A' songs. But I just need someone to come in and help me, not arrange, by any means… I know what I'm hearing and I know what I wanna hear. It's, like, [I need] a guy to help me [lay vocals on top of it]… 'cause I'm not a singer."



X cierto, se rumorea q John Corabi podria ser el cantante de su disco en solitario. Corabi ha dicho q no hay nada decidido aun pero q ha hablado con Mick y q si no es el cantante de todas las canciones si lo sera en algunas (quizas Mick haga una especie de disco tipo Slash & Friends)

John Corabi, former lead singer of MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE SCREAM and UNION, says that he plans to collaborate again with MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars after the completion of the CRÜE's "The Final Tour".

Asked if there are any plans for him to work with Mars again, Corabi told Jack Antonio of the "Do You Know Jack?" radio show : "Yeah, actually I was just talking to him the other day. A lot of people already know about it, but as soon as he's done doing this next tour, Mick and I have had some discussions about possibly going in and doing some writing together and doing a record, and maybe going out and doing some shows. So we'll see how that works."

Corabi also talked about what it was like playing guitar for MÖTLEY CRÜE during the tour in the support of the band's self-titled album and being the guy that Mars could "bump ideas off." He said: "Mick's a great player. He really doesn't need anybody to bump ideas off of. I just basically… Me being able to play [guitar], and play as well as I do, allowed Mick to do… Mick didn't have to worry about, 'Okay, I've gotta play the rhythm here.' 'Okay, I've gotta [break into] the solo,' 'Now I've gotta get back to the rhythm.' He had the freedom to just be the lead guitar player, and I was able to cover up and do whatever rhythms he asked me to do that gave him freedom to be that lead guy. And I think he enjoyed it."

Corabi previously told Philadelphia's 93.3 WMMR radio station about the possibility of collaborating again with Mick Mars on the MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist's forthcoming solo album: "I don't know what he wants to do musically, but at the end of the day, I love Mick Mars — he's one of the sweetest human beings you'll ever meet in your life — and anything I can do to help him with his solo record, I would be more than happy to do. I appreciate the fact that Mick has been just stupidly supportive of what we did in the past, and I appreciate Mick's talent as a guitar player; I think he's totally underrated. And anything I can do to help him, he's more than willing to help me with what I wanna do. So we'll have to see where it goes from there."

habia oido que tendría diferentes vocalistas, pero seguro que sacan un buen disco, ojala mick meta caña de la buena. Ojala hicieran gira, y tocaran algun tema del disco motley crue.

Yo lo entiendo pensando en su enfermedad. Y que de esos 15 años, 14 los ha pasado como miembro de Mötley Crüe. Hicieron el "New Tattoo"  y su gira, se separaron durante 3 o 4 años. Se reunieron, hicieron 4 temas nuevos para un recopilatorio y una gira de 2 años, editaron el DVD en directo, luego un disco, y luego se han pasado de gira tras gira hasta hace 10 meses que se separaron definitivamente, incluyendo algún tema sueto y algún directo que ha caído (y donde supongo que "algo" tendría que hacer").

Sigue siendo más de lo que ha hecho Axl en el mismo tiempo

Parece ser q el disco ya esta casi acabado. A ver si sale de una vez

5 años esperando por este disco. Empezó a grabarlo antes de la gira final de MC y va a salir cuando MC han sido resucitados.

aquí tenemos el single, mentiría si dijese que estoy impresionado, tema metalero bastante random donde como guitarrista no demuestra nada

Tanto meterse con sus ex compañeros y el tipo este lleva dando la brasa con su disco lustros. Total va a acabar pasando desapercibido si es que sale algún día.

Pues no está nada mal joder y encima se ha molestado en hacer un vídeo. Es un poco Sabbath Jevitron metalpaco, pero ni tan mal coño. Podría ser peor, podría ser The General.

No está mal pero esperaba más. Muy justito todo.

están tan acostumbrados a engañar.... toman al fan por idiota, a ver tío, que el tema es genérico a más no poder y esas guitarras las toca prácticamente cualquier guitarra con un mínimo de nivel

Huele a caso Richie Sambora. Lo va petar en solitario, es el espíritu de la banda! y luego resulta un fiasco.
