Edición del 40 aniversario de “Bridge over troubled water” de Simon & Garfunkel






En 2010 se cumplieron cuarenta años del lanzamiento “Bridge over troubled water”, el álbum con el que Simon & Garfunkel ponían fin a su carrera, y uno de los más importantes de la década de los setenta, con más 25 millones de ejemplares vendidos y cuatro singles de éxito (‘Bridge over troubled water’, ‘The boxer’, ‘Cecilia’ y ‘El condor pasa’).

Sony publicará el 8 de marzo la edición conmemorativa “Bridge over troubled water (40th Anniversary Edition)”. Además del disco original, se incluye un DVD que contiene el especial de televisión “Songs of America – Originally”, emitido por CBS en 1969, y en el que se recogen imágenes de la gira de ese año de Simon & Garfunkel.

Es la primera vez que, desde su emisión original, el programa es editado ya que los patrocinadores del mismo se opusieron a su posterior comercialización por la presencia de canciones contra la guerra de Vietnam. Asimismo, el DVD recoge un documental sobre la grabación de “Bridge over troubled water”, con entrevistas a Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, Roy Halee y otras personas implicadas en la elaboración del álbum

Muy poca gente en la historia del pop rock tienen tantas canciones míticas como S&G .........................

Menuda discografía, ¡qué coros! Todo es muy bueno. Tiene fama de ñoños pero también hay temas donde rockean. Considero que Simon como compositor tuvo una década dorada y con Garfunkel formó un gran dúo. Buenísimos.

Bridge Over Troubled Water has sold over 25-million copies worldwide and was one of the biggest-selling albums of its decade, topping the charts world-wide including 33 weeks at #1 and six years in the chart in the UK alone. el otro día estuve revisando este disco



y me sigue pareciendo la hostia, pero la puta hostia

Muy enganchado a ellos estos días.
De hecho, por encima de la sobrexposición a la que se ha visto sufrida, BOTW me parece la mejor canción de la historia. Y lo digo aquí y ahora y a pecho descubierto.

1. el año pasado PAUL SIMON se embarcó en una gira con sting -al que supongo que odia todo el mundo por aquí, como en el resto de interné- que dio momentos muy buenos

2. el susodicho PAUL SIMON publica ahora un disco que se ve que es canela en rama. esperando estoy

3. tomó el nombre de "mother and child reunion" de un plato combinado de un infecto restaurante chino que consistía en pollo y huevo

4. ¿porqué la gente suele decir SIMÓN -asi como suena- y Gartfunkel y luego a él lo llama Pol Saimon?

NÓTESE QUE LO CONTADO AQUÍ OCURRIÓ EN UN CONCIERTO DE PAUL SIMON (DE AHÍ LA COLADA, CON PERDÓN).

¡Loquillo ya tiene su copia del libro "Directos al Rock'n'Roll"!

Sucedió así: 17/11/2016, Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) de Barakaldo (Bilbao). Está actuando Paul Simon (sí, el de Simon y Garfunkel. Es decir, Garfunkel no, el otro). Yo estoy en las gradas de fondo. Soy el más joven de los 3.000 asistentes y el siguiente más joven es 30 años mayor que yo. Lo que significa que ese segundo más joven tiene 103 años. Simon lleva una banda de 10 músicos y todo suena impecable, pero ante la falta de “espectáculo”, estoy al borde de un ataque de SOPOR*.

Decido moverme un rato para aguantar y me cuelo en la pista, al menos para ver a los músicos tocar de cerca. Y así hasta primera fila, donde en pie, bailan varias mujeres los pasos aprendidos en la academia de baile al sol de ritmos de músicas del mundo fusionadas con jazz… Yo ya no puedo más*.

Miro a mi alrededor y de repente veo en primera fila a Loquillo (con sus 2 metros de altura se le reconoce fácil). Tras el final del concierto me acerco y como casualmente llevaba yo una copia del libro "Directos al Rock'n'Roll" se la di como obsequio, ya que él también es protagonista en un par de conciertos: en uno, borrachos a whiskys renegamos y en otro damos un sobresaliente. En verdad, ambos fueron conciertazos, pero dependiendo de la graduación de alcohol en sangre las cosas se ven de diferente manera. Todo eso está en el libro...

Y bueno, la foto que debería constatar el encuentro entre Loquillo y "Directos al Rock'n'Roll", resultó salir un “selfie” chapuza. En la imagen, abajo a la derecha se puede ver una pequeña parte de la contraportada del libro. DESASTRE. Que con las prisas quedó así. Menos mal que con la tecnología actual se pueden retocar y mejorar el resultado.      

*PD: A ver, el concierto de Simon fue bueno. Para sus seguidores seguro que un concierto para recordar. El tipo ama la música y hace lo que quiere, por lo que eso está bien. En los bises con “Sound Of Silence” y esas en acústico ya me gustó más, hay que decir. Luego están los gustos de cada uno...
