PINNICK GALES PRIDGEN (King's X, Mars Volta,..)

Llevo desde que salió el disco disfrutándolo de él a tope, pero creo que aquí, y sabiendo que hay fans de King's X, Mars Volta, etc.. no sé si saben de la existencia de este proyecto del reputo amo Doug Pinnick, que tras Tres Mts. con los Pearl Jam Ament y McReady se enfrasca en éste. Esta vez es otro power trio pero esta vez de color... de color negro!! 
Superbanda formada con el gran guitarrista Eric Gales, que ha tocado con Billy Cox, Buddy Miles o Santana,.. y con el probablemente mejor batera que ha tenido Mars Volta, Thomas Pridgen.
El disco suena potentísimo, ultra groovah, los 3 se salen en lo suyo, Gales a veces parece como si Hendrix siguiera tocando en la actualidad, dUg está como de costumbre, colosal,.. y Pridgen, la virgen,.. Mars Volta quizás jamás tuvo un bataca con esa contundencia.
Para mí sin duda uno de los discos del año, con muchos pepinazos, y es que es un disco muy muy gordo.

'Eric and I have been thinking about working together for the last 15 years on a project, but we never got around to it,' says Pinnick. 'This is like a match made in heaven.'
'I think the record has a combination of all of the good things about our playing,' says Pridgen.
'This is just colossal,' Gales concludes. This is just some slammin stuff."
Produced by guitar specialist Mike Varney, this album is for fans of Tool, Audioslave, The Who, Living Colour, Stevie Wonder, Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Liquid Tension Experiment, Baroness, Soilent Green and Mastodon.

Totalmente de acuerdo en todo, sí señor. Un disco de los que ya no se hacen, y muy parecido a lo que deber ser una patada en las pelotas de puro groove.
