THE PROMISE OF THE REAL

Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real – sometimes referred to as POTR – is an American rock group based in California. ^[1]The band consists of Lukas Nelson (vocals/guitar), Anthony Logerfo (drums), Corey McCormick (bass), and Tato Melgar (percussion). Lukas is the son of Willie Nelson.



In 2015, the band, alongside Lukas's brother Micah Nelson, became Canadian musician Neil Young's backing band on his thirty-sixth studio album

Mikah Nelson. No pertenece realmente a Promise of the Real pero suele girar con ellos. Guitarra, piano, voz,...

Los hermanos Nelson conocieron al resto de miembros de Promise of the Real en un concierto de Neil Young. Por eso llamaron a la banda así, haciendo referencia a la canción Walk On.

El bajista tocó por ejemplo en la banda con la que giró Chris Cornell, entre Audioslave e irse en solitario.

¿No hay ningún audio decente de algún bolo de esta gira o de la del año pasado?

Es un festival. Se carga toda esa primar parte tan especial.

Mala pinta de cara al Mad Cool.

Mala pinta relativamente.

No me parece mala decisión prescindir de los momento más acústicos en un festival.
Y si se meten un down by the river de 40 minutos muchos efebos en shorts se van a desmayar allí mismo.

Estoy seguro que la gente prefiere un Down By The River de 20 en vez de 40 y que haga ese set inicial de 3-4 acústicas.

Iguan en un festi y sobre todo empezando de día si sería mejor meter esa parte acústica en la parte intermedia. Como hacía con Crazy Horse.

En USA los grupos suelen tocar menos que aquí en los festivales.

Para mí esa parte acústica es fundamental.

Con el tiempo asignado en el Mad Cool tendremos concierto normal o casi normal.

Espero que no haga una versión ultralarga de ningún tema.

pero si dejara fuera el momento MOTHER EARTH lo agradecería

las demás las puede tocar todas

hombre, con el matiz que prefiero que no alargue LOVE AND ONLY LOVE hasta los 41 minutos

Sabía/intuía que el show de Londres iba a ser más especial que el de SS. No me equivoqué, pero no acerté el aspecto en el que iba a ser especial

Tampoco estuvo mal para ser un festival.

Al de Barcelona sólo le faltó Like a Hurricane y ya puestos, cambiar el cover por otra.

Era mi primera vez, y me regaló cosas como "Down by the river", "Old man", "Cortez", "Cinnamon", "Everybody knows" y "Heart of gold". Eso convierte un concierto en perfecto aunque dedique la hora restante a tocar sardanas.

Estuvo muy bien, además que salieron a toda castaña.

Lo recuerdo como si fuera ayer.

Los dos fueron la polla.

En Donosti estaba A Day in the Life en el setlist y no Like a Hurricane. Cuando se despidieron después de rockin nos pusimos como locos tres de la primera fila a señalar a Pegi el pajarraco/piano colgante. Vimos como se lo decía a Neil al oido y este hacia un gesto de "no me jodas". Cuando vimos que lo descolgaban casi nos da algo.
