Estoy recuperando el directo de Live From Sessions at West 54th.
Hace meses lo mencioné en las peticiones para el PS 2020, a ver si se obraba el milagro de poder verle en directo por la península.
Ojalá le quede algo de fuerza para superarlo.

Su salud ya era muy mala antes de contagiarse de coronavirus. De hecho, sufrió cáncer de pulmón. Que salga de esta sería un milagro, me temo. Una pena.

Os vamos a contar una historia.

Hace exactamente un mes y dos días, nos llegaba un mail de un amigo y promotor en Suecia, en el que nos ponía en contacto con el veterano tour manager de John Prine con la idea de organizarle un concierto por aquí en febrero del año que viene. Un texto lleno de humildad en el que nos preguntaba ¡si conocíamos a John! y si estaríamos interesados en ayudar a que actuara en España, que leímos mientras nos temblaba todo el cuerpo de nervios, ilusión e incredulidad. Sobra decir que poco después vino este odioso virus que nos mantiene encerrados y que se ha llevado ya a tantos, y todos los planes quedaron congelados a la espera que la situación se aclarara. Hoy, el muy maldito se ha llevado a John, y sabemos que el sueño ya nunca será posible.

Eterno John, así funciona este terrible mundo que has dejado. Los que nos quedamos por aquí nunca te estaremos lo suficientemente agradecidos.
