Qué raro, los discos clásicos de America llevan en serie media desde hace varios años.
Supongo que habrán subido el precio por la muerte de Peek, que hasta hoy sale su obituario en El País.

es un disco de la segunda etapa de la banda ,donde endurecieron su sonido,dejando un poco de lado el southern rock para decantarse por sonidos más hard rockeros..........aunque no es un disco del nivel de los primeros si que es muy disfrutable :discos como este,X rated o Race with the Devil no son muy apreciados por la crítica , pero tienen algunas joyas brutalísimas..............
Que grandes los Black Oak Arkansas. Sus mejores discos los parieron en su primera época, "raunch & roll live", "high on the hog" y "Ain't life grand" son la prueba del delito. Ya en su 2ª epoca más HardRocker siguieron facturando buenos plásticos como los que menciona Mars, es decir X rated ó Race with the devil. De todas formas es bueno hacerse con todo su discografía setentas, siempre encontraremos pepinazos marca de la casa como éste tema perteneciente al disco "The wild bunch" que editaron en el año 99 con regrabaciones de algunos de sus clásicos y nuevos temas y en el que además de los miembros originales Jim Dandy y Ricky Lee Reynolds contaron con la pluscuamperfecta guitarra de Rocky Athas..................PEPINAZO

Mola. Ahora salta el hilo éste. Hará unos días encontré en zinhof un box set con sus discos de 1971 a 1974. Siempre me habían interesado y gracias a eso he descubierto un pedazo de banda. Unos garrulos haciendo música cojonuda, divertida. Un rollo guapo del copón. Necesarios. Me queda localizar vinilos, si fuese posible, algo debe haber por ahí.

Black Oak Arkansas Announce New Album and Tour
Black Oak Arkansas, the groundbreaking southern-rock group, have announced that they will put out a new album, ‘Back Thar N’ Over Yonder,’ on Oct. 15. The band will also spend much of the two months preceding the album’s release on the road.
‘Back Thar N’ Over Yonder’ finds the group back on Atco Records, where they recorded eight albums, all of which charted, between 1970 and 1976. Its 15 tracks are comprised of five newly recorded songs and 10 previously unreleased cuts from their first spell on Atco. The earlier songs were originally produced by the legendary Tom Dowd at Miami’s Criteria Studios.
Fronted by Jim “Dandy” Mangrum, Black Oak Arkansas gained fame for their then-unheard of three-guitar lineup and for their over-the-top concerts, which made them one of the top live acts in their heyday. Over the years, members came and went, but the current lineup brings Mangrum — the lone constant — back with two other founding members, Rickie Lee Reynolds (guitar) and Pat “Dirty” Daugherty (bass). Another original guitarist, Stanley “Goober Grin” Knight, had agreed to rejoin, but passed away shortly before the recording.
The new work found Mangrum in a reflective mood. “In those days, we was doing over 250 shows a year, every year,” he said via press release. “On top of that, we was giving Atlantic two albums a year, every year. So anytime we would get a few days off, we’d hightail it to Miami and lay down a few tracks with Dowd. After a while, we couldn’t keep up with which songs was going on which albums. So when these songs showed up, it took me and Rickie a while to even remember cutting them.”

We are pleased to exclusively premiere the first two chapters of a fascinating new eight-part video documentary about the troubled past and triumphant return of Southern rock pioneers Black Oak Arkansas.
The southern hillbilly psycho-boogie band best known for their smash hit cover of ‘Jim Dandy‘ release a brand-new album, ‘Back Thar N’ Over Yonder,’ on October 15. The band clawed their way to the top of the rock world in the early ’70s, earning three gold records on the strength of an absolutely insane (250+ shows and two albums a year) touring and recording schedule.
Unfortunately, that pace left the group vulnerable for some shady business dealings, and the group fractured as various members found themselves broke, homeless or in jail after a grueling series of lawsuits failed to recover the large sums of money taken from them.
So how is it that they’re back together, with an album combining new songs and previously unreleased ’70s tracks produced by the legendary Tom Dowd? Well, it’s a great story, but we’ll let the videos tell the rest. Part one is above, part two at the bottom of this page.

Las nuevas muy bien y las "oldies" pues tambien. Me está pareciendo un gran disco........................... Esa version de los Stones....... solo ellos podian meterle tanto fuego a un tema de sus Satanicas. A colocar junto a las burradas que hacía J. Winter con los temas de morritos y compañía
JODERRRR, un puto placer tener a Dandy and co. despues de tantos años. Son solo cinco nuevos temas pero valen más que discos de 15 temas de muchos. Solo por escuchar la belleza de "15 million light years" o el clasicismo sureño de "I aint poor" merece la pena este regreso

A mi me ha gustado mucho, y me reafirmo en lo que dije en su momento. Hay mucha banda de rock sureño en la actualidad que palidecen ante el último de Outlaws o las canciones nuevas de Black Oak Arkansas.
