anyway, it's just awesome to know it's official and it confirms that they'll do more european shows in septmeber :Iroks:

this is a really hard question for me! they have only three official albums with Shannon and the one with Travis is their 4th. I love their new album but I'd still definitely recommend one of the first three to start with.

I listened to their first album (self titled- Blind Melon) first, this is the one that got me into them so I guess I would recommend this one. But all of their albums are very different so it's hard to say which one is best to start with, it depends on what you like. "Soup" is more "psychadelic", harder, darker sound. "Nico" was realeased after Shannon's death so there's a little bit of everything on it. It might be my favorite cause I love their accoustic sound and there's quite a few acoustic songs on it.

Anyway, I'd probably say start with "Blind Melon". If you can't afford all three albums, I think it's still better to download them and then maybe you become a fan and support them by going to the shows or buying them later, better than to never hear all the music!

If you want to hear some shows, you can download them for free at the Blind Melon Forum. They were not officialy released and the band is ok with people sharing them.

in Slovenia and France (where I lived for a few years) they're not popular either, I met a few people in my whole life who knew about them. way too underated band...
I'm actually surprised how many people know and like Blind Melon on this forum! it shows that they're more known and loved as I thought. i hope venues in Europe will be full when they'll be playing!

and noticed that http://www.blind-melon.com/ is listed as their official website. This is not their official page, it's a fan's site and it hasn't been updated in years.

On their Myspace, Blind Melon is listing www.blindmelonforum.com as their website.

I think it's cool that http://www.blind-melon.com/ is listed on that page, I just thought I'd let you know it's not their official website.
Best and most (or I could even say the only one) updated Blind MElon fan site is http://www.beemelon.com/

in Slovenia and France (where I lived for a few years) they're not popular either, I met a few people in my whole life who knew about them. way too underated band...
I'm actually surprised how many people know and like Blind Melon on this forum! it shows that they're more known and loved as I thought. i hope venues in Europe will be full when they'll be playing!

Lately, Europe stinks. They don´t know Jethro Tull in England.

Por supuesto que yo me lo voy a comprar (en vinilo si es que lo editan, si no en cd) pero pagar por tenerlo en mp3 ni se me pasa por la cabeza.

Noooooo, si la descarga ya la tenía, de momento en cd, que no estoy tan chalao, y estuve buscando próxima edición vinilo y no encontré na da na, así que en cd y si algún día llega el plástico negro, pues también.
