Re: Live (La Banda): The Turn (2014)

Is Live Reuniting With Ed Kowalczyk?
Recently, a fan posted to Live’s Facebook page pleading for the band to reunite with original Live vocalist Ed Kowalczyk. Four days later, Live shared the message to their main page:
With the 25th anniversary of the release of the band’s debut album Mental Jewelry on the horizon, could this be a hint that Live may be reuniting with founding vocalist Ed Kowalczyk?
In 2009, the band split under very tumultuous circumstances, which included ridiculous lawsuits, Kowalczyk trying to get a lead singer bonus, and plenty of drama in the press, making it seem any positive relationship between the original members of the band and their founding vocalist was over. In 2014, with Kowalczyk continuing on with a solo career, Live brought in former Unified Theory vocalist Chris Shinn for The Turn, which many fans considered the band’s best release since 1997’s Secret Samadhi.
The last update that we received from Live was in January of this year, when guitarist Chad Taylor posted on his Facebook page that Live was recording new music. However, the person providing vocals wasn’t mentioned in the post. Since the January post, updates on the current state of the band have been silent. Shinn, Kowalczyk, and the rest of Live have not posted any updates on recording or spoke to the media in several months. What is apparent however, is even if the band is not reuniting with Kowalczyk, the simple act of sharing that particular post shows a definite change of heart from recent times by acknowledging the chemistry the band had with their former lead singer.

Re: Live (La Banda): The Turn (2014)
Live guitarist Chad Taylor posted on his Facebook page yesterday a quote from Dr Suess that read “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” Taylor also added he was “grateful, blessed, and thankful.”
It’s interesting to note that the band’s original frontman Ed Kowalczyk has no tour dates currently scheduled, and current singer Chris Shinn hasn’t been mentioned on Facebook in months. A reunion with Kowalczyk has been rumored.
Alternative Nation recently messaged Taylor requesting an interview to discuss the state of Live, he replied back with:
“Jeremy – thanks for reaching out. I’m taking a long break from interviews but truly appreciate your support. I’m focused on impacting my local community, making records for some new artists and of course my family. That’s all I’ll say for now. Maybe sometime next year we can discuss band stuff. Keep up the good work until then.”
Even though the band is keeping quiet, the hints they have been giving recently makes it seem that there are more big changes on the way, which could either be the band breaking up, or the band reuniting with Ed Kowalczyk but also having a positive break-up with current vocalist Chris Shinn.

Re: Live (La Banda): The Turn (2014)

Re: Live (La Banda): The Turn (2014)
Yesterday, Ed Kowalczyk updated his profile photo on his Facebook page to an image of himself with a Live logo and naming himself as a member of Live, and also naming himself as the Lead Singer/Songwriter of Live in the “about” section of his profile. In addition, Live’s Facebook page has updated their cover photo to a retro image of the band which includes Kowalczyk.
It has been long rumored that Live was going to reunite with Kowalczyk. After a radio appearance with Live bandmate Chad Taylor last month, speculation of a reunion grew rampant among Live fans

Los rumores a voces ya son oficiales. Live vuelven con Ed. Chris Shinn fuera.
The original line-up of +LIVE+--Ed Kowalczyk (vocals, guitar), Chad Taylor (guitar, backing vocals), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass) and Chad Gracey (drums, percussion)--have reunited for a worldwide tour including North America in 2017. The band is now writing and recording new music TBA.
The original line-up of +LIVE+ performed their last show in July 2009 before going off in different directions. Rediscovering their friendship has healed old differences, setting the stage for the four members to come together to make music again.
