Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
On August 27, 2021, Halsey released her fourth studio album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, with little prior promotion. Produced by Nine Inch Nails members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, it received critical acclaim. Leading up to the album's release, a companion film of the same name was screened at select IMAX theaters; it was later released on HBO Max on October 7. The album was further supported by the single "I Am Not a Woman, I'm a God".

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Halsey, released on August 27, 2021, by Capitol Records. It was written by Halsey, Johnathan Cunningham, Greg Kurstin, and its producers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails. Halsey described the project as "a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth".
The cover artwork of If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power was inspired by artistic depictions of Mary, mother of Jesus. A theatrical film directed by American filmmaker Colin Tilley, titled after the album and featuring its music, screened in select IMAX cinemas around the world on August 25 and 26, 2021, leading up to the album release. If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power is an alternative rock, grunge-pop, and pop punk effort with heavy industrial influence, driven by clattering drums, distorted guitars, and a cinematic texture to its music. Its lyrics center on feminist themes, such as addressing patriarchy and institutionalized misogyny.
— Halsey introducing If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, Instagram:
"This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth. It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months. The dichotomy of the Madonna and the Whore. The idea that me as a sexual being and my body as a vessel and gift to my child are two concepts that can co-exist peacefully and powerfully. My body has belonged to the world in many different ways the past few years, and this image is my means of reclaiming my autonomy and establishing my pride and strength as a life force for my human being."
The album was a long-distance project, with Reznor and Ross recording in Los Angeles while Halsey sang all of its songs at a studio in Turks and Caicos Islands. Other remote contributions include drums by American musician Dave Grohl in "Honey" and guitar by American musician Lindsey Buckingham in "Darling". Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Halsey stated she had been wanting to work with Nine Inch Nails for years, because she "wanted really cinematic sort of, not horror specifically, but kind of just really unsettling production" on one of her projects. In an interview with Lizzy Goodman at Capitol Studios, Halsey stated that she started working on the album in June 2020, and that "Lilith" was the first song written for the record.

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
Music critics reviewed the album positively, most of whom praised its ambitious concept and theatrical production. Two singles were released to promote the album: "I Am Not a Woman, I'm a God" to United States contemporary hit radio on August 31, 2021, followed by "You Asked for This" to U.S. alternative radio on September 7, 2021.
[Intro]
I am not a woman, I'm a god
I am not a martyr, I'm a problem
I am not a legend, I'm a fraud
Keep your heart 'cause I already—
[Verse 1]
Every day, I got a smile where my frown goes
A couple bodies in the garden where the grass grows
I take 'em with me to the grave in a suitcase
Maybe I could be a different human in a new place
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh
I just wanna feel somethin', tell me where to go
'Cause everybody knows somethin' I don't wanna know
So I stay right here 'cause I'm bеtter all alone
Yeah, I'm bеtter all alone
But
[Chorus]
I am not a woman, I'm a god
I am not a martyr, I'm a problem
I am not a legend, I'm a fraud
So keep your heart 'cause I already got one
I am not a woman, I'm a god
I am not a martyr, I'm a problem
I am not a legend, I'm a fraud
Keep your heart 'cause I already—
[Verse 2]
Every morning, got a hollow where my heart goes
I never listen, but I see it with my eyes closed
I know you, I remember from the grass stain
Maybe I could be a better human with a new name
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh
I just wanna feel somethin', tell me where to go
'Cause everybody knows somethin' I don't wanna know
So I stay right here 'cause I'm better all alone
Yeah, I'm better all alone
But
Keep your heart 'cause I already— (Yeah)
[Bridge]
I'm ready to leave it, I'll go when I feel it
Got caught, both hands on the smokin' gun
I try, but I need it, it's hard, but I feel it
And it really does hurt when you love someone
Oh
I just wanna feel somethin', tell me where to go
'Cause everybody knows somethin' I don't wanna know
So I stay right here 'cause I'm better all alone
Yeah, I'm better all alone
[Chorus]
I am not a woman, I'm a god
I am not a martyr, I'm a problem
I am not a legend, I'm a fraud

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
“The Tradition” serves as a haunting beginning to Halsey’s fourth album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, while introducing the record’s themes of female empowerment and independence. The verses tell the story of a girl being bought and sold, possibly as a metaphor for fame, while the chorus encourages her to push through and live the life she wants to.
[Verse 1]
Oh, the loneliest girl in town
Is bought for pennies a price
We dress her up in lovely gowns
She's easy on the eyes
Her soul is black and it's a fact
That her sneer will eat you alive
And the buyer always brings her back
Because all she does is cry
[Chorus]
So take what you want, take what you can
Take what you please, don't give a damn
Ask for forgiveness, never permission
Take what you want, take what you can
Take what you please, don't givе a damn
It's in the blood and this is tradition
Ooh-ooh
[Verse 2]
Oh, the loneliеst girl in town
Was bought for plenty a price
Well, they dress her up in golden crowns
His smile hides a lie
She smiles back, but it's a fact
That her fear will eat her alive
Well, she got the life that she wanted
But now all she does is cry
[Chorus]
Take what you want, take what you can
Take what you please, don't give a damn
Ask for forgiveness, never permission
Take what you want, take what you can
Take what you please, don't give a damn
It's in the blood and this is tradition
[Bridge]
You can't take it back, it's good as gone
Well, flesh amnesiac, this is your song
And I hope what's left will last all summer long
And they said that boys were boys, but they were wrong
[Chorus]
Take what you want, take what you can
Take what you please, don't give a damn
Ask for forgiveness, never permission
Take what you want, take what you can
Take what you please, don't give a damn
It's in the blood and this is tradition

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
[Verse 1]
Don't call me by my name
All of this is temporary
Watch as I slip away for your sake
All of this is temporary
[Pre-Chorus]
Well, maybe I could hold you in the dark
You won't even notice me depart
Secondhand thread in a secondhand bed
With a second man's head
Leavin' through the door without a word
You won't even notice, little bird
Better off dead, so I reckon I'm headed to Hell instead
[Chorus]
So don't wait for me, don't wait for me, wait-ah
It's not a happy ending
Don't wait for me, don't wait for me, wait-ah
It's not a happy ending
[Verse 2]
Jesus needed a three-day weekend
To sort out all his bullshit, figurе out the treason
I've been sеarching for a fortified defense
Four to five reasons
But Jesus, you've got better lips than Judas
I could keep your bed warm, otherwise, I'm useless
I don't really mean it 'cause who the fuck would choose this?
[Pre-Chorus]
Well, maybe I could hold you in the dark
You won't even notice me depart
Secondhand thread in a secondhand bed
With a second man's head
Leavin' through the door without a word

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
In an August 2021 interview with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross at Capitol Studios, Halsey shared her feelings about the song:
"When I got back to “Easier than Lying” for the first time, I noticed there was this rage. I was talking about two things: one is your parents and the others were lovers and the people in life who made you into someone and then decided they don’t like the person they made you into, as if you had any control over that."

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
L. Kiss, hace 4 meses
I love this song because of its meaning in relation to the title. Lilith is seen as evil, but in my book, she was a baddie! She was created at the same time as Adam, not from him like Eve. She refused to submit to him. When she left the garden, she found comfort in Samael and stayed with him after his fall. Queen of Hell always seemed like a badass title to me. She’s seen as a succubus demon in some lore, but as a mother of fertility, sexuality, children, and women in others. She was destructive OF THE PATRIARCHY lol! They took a strong woman and dragged her name because she went after what she wanted. She ended up with Lucifer, but I dont think that makes her inherently evil. A little corrupted? Yes. Destructive? Yes. But that doesnt take away from her overall strength."
[Verse 1]
Well, I'm perfection when it comes to first impressions
Well, I romanticize and then I get to stressin'
Big brain like I'm teachin' it a lesson
Baby, it's a blessin', yeah
You got me thinkin' that I was too mean
Well, everything that I say, I believe
Tuck a knife with my heart up my sleeve
And change like a season, reason for nothin'
I am disruptive, I've been corrupted
And by now, I don't need a fuckin' introduction
I been gone 'cause I been on this road too long
[Chorus]
You know I get too caught up in a moment
I can't call it love if I show it
I just fuck things up if you noticed
Have you noticed? Tell me, have you noticed?
I get too caught up in a moment
I can't fall in love if I show it
I just fuck things up if you noticed
Have you noticed? Tell me, have you noticed?
[Verse 2]
Now, I'm wonderin' if I ever wanted to hold you
It never mattered if I owned you
'Cause you'd let anybody with a body control you
And you know it too
You got me feelin' like I been too mean
And everything that I say, I believe
Tuck a knife with my heart up my sleeve
And fuck like a demon, do it like nothin'
I am disgustin', I've been corrupted
And by now, I don't need no help to be destructive
I been gone, yeah, I been on this road too long
[Chorus]
You know I get too caught up in a moment
I can't call it love if I show it
I just fuck things up if you noticed
Have you noticed? Tell me, have you noticed?
I get too caught up in a moment
I can't fall in love 'cause I'm focused
I just fuck things up if you noticed
Have you noticed? Tell me, have you noticed?
[Outro]
The more that you give away
The more that you have
More that you give away
More that you have
The more that you give away
The more that you have, the more that they take

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
My newest baby's testin' me lately
Makin' me crazy from mornin' to evenin'
I cannot take it, I love it, I break it
Need it, leave it if I believe it's a waste of my
Time is a blessin', to me, it's a lesson
And I can't be stressin' to give you attention
'Cause, oh, it's never enough, so I'm givin' you up
And you'll be better with a nice girl, darlin'
Girl is a Gun is the fifth song off of Halsey’s fourth album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. Being one of the more pop-esc, upbeat songs on the record, Girl is a Gun follows a more playful attitude around love and being a heartbreaker rather than the common theme in Halsey’s music, the heartbroken.
Going along with the general theme of the album, the horrors of the singer’s pregnancy, this song could be about them not feeling good enough to be a mother. In their mind, they’re too impulsive, too explosive, too mean, too playful, too irresponsible. Halsey talked about the way society views women as “unfit for motherhood” if they’re sexually desirable, and this song could be talking about those feelings. Furthermore, the lines “so i’m givin' you up/and you’ll be better with a nice girl, darlin'” could be talking about their child being better off with a “better” mother.
The song title, Girl is a Gun could be a reference to Tyler, The Creator’s song, A BOY IS A GUN

"It's sonically obvious that this is a Tent Reznor production and that is so refreshingly combined with an explosively creative Halsey. Halsey has broken through with an amazingly complex creative movie/ video. I'm several impressed with the maturity and femininity poured all over the tone of this video."
[Verse 1]
I feel lighter in the waistline
With no hands around me, no spit in my teeth
No, I'm not your daydream, I won't have your baby
Stop 'cause you're killin' my vibe
It's a shot in the dark, I'm not a walk in the park
I come loaded with the safety switched off
This girl is a gun and we've been havin' some fun
And I can show you if you turn the lights on
[Pre-Chorus]
I keep waitin' for luck to come swallow me up
I feel better when the boys stop callin'
I keep fallin' in love, but this measurin' cup
Is overflowin' with the same damn problems
[Chorus]
This girl is a gun, before you know it, it's done
And you'll be wishin' that you crossed your fingers
Oh, but God, is it fun when you can have more than one
So let me show you how to touch my trigger

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
El disco prosigue con You Asked for this, tema dominado por la guitarra distorsionada de Dave Sitek....
“You asked for this,” the sixth track off Halsey’s fourth album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, sees her blaming herself for position in life, before they finally ask for a painful release.
Halsey shared on Twitter in November 2021:
‘You asked for this’ is a conversation between the me who is becoming a mom saying ‘grow up’ and the part that so desperately wants to remain a child. Wondering if we can co-exist, despite the massive change
[Verse 1]
I don't know what you want from me
When I'm sunburnt lips and summer feet
I'm tattered like these Levi jeans
Punch-wasted on redundancy
Now what the fuck does all this mean?
You know I'm still somebody's daughter, see
I spilled the milk you left for me
My tears are fallin' flawlessly now
[Chorus]
Go on and be a big girl
You asked for this now
Go on and be a big girl
Or everybody's gonna drown you out
Go on and be a big girl
You asked for this now
You better show 'em why you talk so loud
[Verse 2]
You wished upon a falling star
And then left behind the avant-garde
For lemonade in crystal glassеs
Picket fences, filе taxes
Who the hell is in your bed?
You better kiss goodnight and give some head
And then next, the morning comes instead
Well, is this the life that lies ahead now?
[Chorus]
Go on and be a big girl
You asked for this now
Go on and be a big girl
Or everybody's gonna drown you out
Go on and be a big girl
You asked for this now
You better show 'em why you talk so loud
Well, go on and be a big girl
You asked for this now
Go on and be a big girl
Or everybody's gonna drown you out
Go on and be a big girl
You asked for this now
You better show 'em why you talk so loud
[Outro]
I want my cake on a silver platter
I want a fistful in my hands
I want a beautiful boy's despondent laughter
I wanna ruin all my plans
I want a fist around my throat
I wanna cry so hard, I choke
I want everything I asked for
Ah
Ah, ah
Ah, ah

“Darling,” the seventh track off Halsey’s fourth album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, is a lullaby of love to their future child when their life gets hard. It is sweeter and more melodic than the final track ode to her baby, “Ya'aburnee”.
[Verse 1]
Really can't remember where I left my spine
Carryin' my body in a bag for dimes
Hidden in the pages of the New York Times at home
And maybe I'll be better if I take my meds
Ain't a doubleheader if you lose your head
Try the medication that I bought instead
It's workin' for a little, but there's not much left
[Chorus]
Darling, don't you weep
There's a place for me
Somewhere we can sleep
See you in your dreams
[Verse 2]
Ever since a little girl, I found it sweet
Drivin' past a graveyard on a lonesome street
All the little flowers gave me somethin' to believe in
Never knew the feelin' of a stable home
Been a couple years of livin' on the road
Couldn't really tell you where they'd leave a stone
To visit me when I am dead and gone
[Chorus]
Darlin', don't you weep
There's a place for me
Somewhere we can sleep
I'll see you in your dreams
Darlin', don't you cry
Head fast toward the light
Foolish men have tried
But only you have shown me how to love bein' alive
[Bridge]
Until it's time to see the light
I'll make my own with you each night
I'll kidnap all the stars and I will keep them in your eyes
I'll wrap them up in velvet twine
And hang 'em from a fishin' line
So I can see them anytime I like
[Chorus]
Darlin', don't you weep
There's a place for me
Somewhere we can sleep
I'll see you in your dreams
Darlin', don't you cry
Head fast toward the light

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
Halsey spoke about the title in an Instagram livestream:
It’s the day I found out I was pregnant. I was really sick and I thought that I had COVID. But I was just pregnant.
En YouTube, Adia Aud hace 4 meses:
The hidden messege behind this is heartbreaking. The Date is when she found out she was pregnant with Ender. The lyrics “please don’t leave me” are aimed towards Ender because she’s miscarried before. She’s basically begging for her son not to leave her and she loves him so much she’d break her own heart for him
[Verse 1]
Well, I won't die for love
But I've got a body here to bury
And if truth be told, it's scary
'Cause my shoulders are heavy already
And, yeah, I know
The parts of myself that I've hated
And I can't tell which ones are mine
And which I created
[Chorus]
But I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
And I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
[Verse 2]
Take onе in the temple, my tonguе is a vessel
I try to be careful with the thing inside my chest
You shoot for the memory so you can forget me
I'll leave if you let me, ooh
[Chorus]
But I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
[Bridge]
Please don't leave (I'm runnin' out of time to tell you)
Don't leave me in the shape you left me (I'm runnin' out of things that I regret)
Please don't leave (I'm runnin' out of time to tell you)
Don't leave me in the shape you left me (I'm runnin' out of things that I regret)
Please don't leave
Don't leave me in the shape you left me (You took me)
Please don't leave
Just leave me in the place you found me safe and soundly
[Chorus]
I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
[Outro]
Well, I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
Halsey spoke about the title in an Instagram livestream:
It’s the day I found out I was pregnant. I was really sick and I thought that I had COVID. But I was just pregnant.
En YouTube, Adia Aud hace 4 meses:
The hidden messege behind this is heartbreaking. The Date is when she found out she was pregnant with Ender. The lyrics “please don’t leave me” are aimed towards Ender because she’s miscarried before. She’s basically begging for her son not to leave her and she loves him so much she’d break her own heart for him
[Verse 1]
Well, I won't die for love
But I've got a body here to bury
And if truth be told, it's scary
'Cause my shoulders are heavy already
And, yeah, I know
The parts of myself that I've hated
And I can't tell which ones are mine
And which I created
[Chorus]
But I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
And I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
[Verse 2]
Take onе in the temple, my tonguе is a vessel
I try to be careful with the thing inside my chest
You shoot for the memory so you can forget me
I'll leave if you let me, ooh
[Chorus]
But I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
[Bridge]
Please don't leave (I'm runnin' out of time to tell you)
Don't leave me in the shape you left me (I'm runnin' out of things that I regret)
Please don't leave (I'm runnin' out of time to tell you)
Don't leave me in the shape you left me (I'm runnin' out of things that I regret)
Please don't leave
Don't leave me in the shape you left me (You took me)
Please don't leave
Just leave me in the place you found me safe and soundly
[Chorus]
I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you
[Outro]
Well, I won't die for love
But ever since I met you
You could have my heart
And I would break it for you

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
Halsey shared in an Instagram livestream:
My little brother Dante, he’s 16 and he makes music. He, like, writes and produces. And he was like, ‘I really wanna come to the studio with you,’ ‘cause he had never been to the studio with me. And he was like, 'Can I see how you make a song?’ So I invited him to the studio — which is in my backyard, it’s not that cool — and I was there with John Cunningham. And he pulled up a really rough beat. ‘John,’ I was like, ‘Can we just write a song really quick so I can show my brother how I write music?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah.’ I was like, ‘It’s fine, it’ll just be to show him.’ So he pulls up a beat and I get in front of the mic and I just kinda start singing, just writing and singing. And I was like, ‘Alright, Dante! That’s how we write music. Let’s go get dinner.’ And we left. And then two days later, I texted John and I was like, ‘Was that song dope?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, I’ve been trying to get you to realize that.’ And I was like, ‘Woah, wait, that song was actually good.’ So it was like an experiment song that I wrote just to show my little brother how I write songs, and it turned out to probably be one of my top favorites on the whole album.

Thank you queen. They never disappoint.

Halsey was a fan of The Cure growing up, and this song shows. Poppy sound, 80's instrumentals and dark sexual lyrics. So Trent Reznor. The entire album is fire.
[Verse 1]
She told me, "Open your mouth," she said, "I got a surprise"
And so I opened it wide and then she crawled inside
She's on the tip of my tongue, she's on the top of my thighs
And if I searched a thousand miles, I'd be dyin' to find
[Pre-Chorus]
Between my fingers, she leaves, then she lingers
If she's gonna go, well, then I'm goin' with her
I know that I won't forget
[Chorus]
She was sweet like honey
But all I can taste is the blood in my mouth
And the bitterness in goodbyе
Drippin' like honey
Down the back of my throat and on thе front of my mind
And well, she's impatient and I'm complacent
With just a little taste of wastin' time
Lookin' for honey
Well, she stings like she means it, she's mean and she's mine
[Verse 2]
Out and about without a reason or rhyme
And now she's dancin' on a table and she spins on a dime
But she's hell in a basket, just makin' a racket
I love every second, it's fuckin' fantastic
[Pre-Chorus]
Good things aren't easy to get
I know that I won't regret
[Chorus]
She was sweet like honey
And all I can taste is the blood in my mouth
And the bitterness in goodbye
Drippin' like honey
Down the back of my throat and on the front of my mind
And well, she's impatient and I'm complacent
With just a little taste of wastin' time
Lookin' for honey

Halsey: Approaching Nine Inch Nails to collaborate was "the scariest moment of my life"
Halsey jokes that approaching Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to work together was like "writing a letter to Santa"
November 26, 2021
Words:Emily Carter
Fresh from picking up a GRAMMY nomination for Best Alternative Music Album, Halsey has looked back on the creation of this year's excellent If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power and how Nine Inch Nails got involved.
The New Jersey star describes approaching Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to produce the record as "the scariest moment of my life" and like "writing a letter to Santa being like, 'I’ve been a very good girl’”.
"I was just really honest and said I was a huge fan and I’ve been plagiarising you guys for years – badly – and I’m not arrogant enough to believe that I have anything new to offer you, but this album is about pregnancy, gender identity, body horror," Halsey tells NME.
"The most important thing to me is that this album has tension – it needs to be visceral, or I’m doing a disservice to the message."
As their working relationship began to develop, Halsey details the similarities they all started to see in each other: "When we started to unravel a little bit, we saw that underneath all of us are just creatives who just really want to make shit that their friends think is cool. At the end of the day, if you take away their Oscars and accolades, all of us are just sitting behind our laptops being like, ‘God, I hope they like this’ when you press send. That was really, really cool for me."
Back in August, Halsey shared of Nine Inch Nails' approach to producing the LP: "Trent said something to me that I’ll never forget for the rest of my life, where he was like, 'Hey, the record is great how it is.' He was like, ‘So you could not do this with us and put it out.' He’s like, 'Or, the way a lot of modern music is right now is it informs the listener not to pay attention. It says, this song is safe. You can put it on a playlist. You can listen to it in a car. You can play it on a party, and it’s not going to fuck up the vibe. It blends in with everything else. It’s a mood. It’s chill. But it informs you not to pay attention.'
"He was like, 'Your songs, I think, deserve better than that, and I think that they should make people pay attention to what you’re saying.’ He said, 'So I’m going to make some really weird choices.’ And I was like, 'Please make weird choices. Make the weirdest choices!’”

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
This song is about how mental illness can affect your relationships.
You keep sabotaging the things you love the most for many reasons: sometimes it’s because you think that you don’t care, others it’s because you feel undeserving but in this case, it’s about trying desperately to fill a void and the voices in your head trying to stop you or most rarely encourage you…
[Intro]
Mm
"You do not"
"You do not"
[Verse 1]
It's the thing in your thighs when you're lonely at night
Scroll through your phone, gettin' high off the light
Numb in your chest when you close the blinds
Repose in time and you tell yourself you're fine, but you
[Chorus]
Sabotage the things you love the most
Camouflage so you can feed the lie that you're composed
[Verse 2]
This is the voice in your head that says, "You do not want this"
This is the ache that says, "You do not want him"
This is the glimmer of light that you're keepin' alive
When you tell yourself, "Bet I could fuck him"
Why do you need love so badly?
Bet it's bеcause of her daddy
Bet shе was brutal and bratty
Bet that she'll never be happy
I bet that you're right and I'll show you in time, but I
[Chorus]
Sabotage the things I love the most
Camouflage so I can feed the lie that I'm composed
[Verse 3]
I've got a monster inside me that eats personality types
She's constantly changin' her mind on the daily
Think that she hates me, I'm feelin' it lately
Might have to trick her and treat her to
Seventy capsules or fly to a castle
So at least we could say that we died bein' traveled
Cultured and flattered and then I could trap her
But what does it matter?
[Verse 4]
"You do not want this"
This is the voice in your head that says, "You do not want him"
This is that space in your bed that says, "Bet I could fuck him"
Isn't it lonely?
These are the standards to which you could hold me
Think that you know me
You think that you could if you hold me
Think you could try to console me, but I do not know me
No, I do not know me
'Cause I, 'cause I
[Chorus]
Sabotage the things I love the most
Camouflage so I can feed the lie that I'm composed ("You do not want this")
Sabotage the things I love the most ("You do not want this")
Camouflage so I can feed the lie that I'm composed ("You do not want this")

That's the proof that wherever NIN go, they change the rules. Metal, rock, pop and soundtracks....extremely unique and adaptable at the same time. You can recognize their dark sound listening to the first 10 seconds of any track. Love your sound guys, you're the future.

this is like a Nine Inch Nails song with Halsey singing over it. Kudos to Trent Reznor’s production!

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
The Lighthouse follows a sinister vibe following the story of a Siren and the danger they impose through seduction of sailors and eventual death of said sailors lured by Halsey, the siren.
In Greek mythology, the sirens were dangerous creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. It is also said that they can even charm the winds.
Early 2021 (prior to the release of IICHLIWP) Halsey shared a drawing made with a similar theme, using a lyric from the chorus. Later revealing on Twitter it was inspired by the song itself.
In Halsey’s 2020 collection of poetry, there was a piece entitled “Lighthouse” discussing the nature of their relationship with their previous partner, American-Rapper, G-Eazy, and the cycle of abuse they experienced throughout the relationship and the toxic behaviour of her ex-partner.
"And again, he would cry that siren’s cry, like a warning to all ships at sea
And with his eyes shut and the siren scream no longer sounding off from his slack mouth in the master bedroom that detached from the home, I became a lighthouse dim glow beaming from my eyes"
From a tender age I was cursed with rage
I came swinging like a fist inside a batting cage
I went swimming with the devil at the bottom of a lake
and he left me there
By my lonesome
He was tall and mean with venom eyes so green
wanted reconciliation, but my tongue was in my teeth
and I couldn’t find the floor so I was kickin with my feet
but they weren’t there
They were stolen
There is a lighthouse in the
middle of the deep end
And I’m still standing on the shore line
And nobody hears me scream
I’ll lure you like a landslide
And I’ll show you lovely things
If you rescue me but they’ll make believe
The lighthouse by the sea
I met a sailor on a ship with promise in his eyes
and he kissed me on the mouth and dug his fingers in my thighs
But a sailor ain’t a savior cause they only tell you lies
so I left him there
till the sunrise
Well the waves were tall and they were crashing down
he’s laying in the water begging god to let him drown
so I showed him all my teeth and then I laughed out loud
Cause I never wanted saving
I just wanted to be found.
There is a lighthouse in the
middle of the deep end
And I’m still stranded on the shore line
And nobody hears me scream
And I’ll lure you like a landslide
And I’ll show you lovely things
If you rescue me but they’ll make believe
The lighthouse by the sea
Well that should teach
A man to mess with me
Cause he was never seen again
And I’m still wandering the beach
and I’m glad I met the devil
cause he showed me I was weak
And a little piece of him is in
a little piece of me
There is a lighthouse in the
middle of the deep end
And I’m still standing on the shore line
And nobody hears me scream
I’ll lure you like a landslide
And I’ll show you lovely things
If you rescue me but they’ll make believe
The lighthouse by the sea
And the waves come crashing down
And the waves come crashing down
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)

And I’ll show you lovely things
If you rescue me but they’ll make believe
The lighthouse by the sea
I met a sailor on a ship with promise in his eyes
and he kissed me on the mouth and dug his fingers in my thighs
But a sailor ain’t a savior cause they only tell you lies
so I left him there
till the sunrise
Well the waves were tall and they were crashing down
he’s laying in the water begging god to let him drown
so I showed him all my teeth and then I laughed out loud
Cause I never wanted saving
I just wanted to be found.
There is a lighthouse in the
middle of the deep end
And I’m still stranded on the shore line
And nobody hears me scream
And I’ll lure you like a landslide
And I’ll show you lovely things
If you rescue me but they’ll make believe
The lighthouse by the sea
Well that should teach
A man to mess with me
Cause he was never seen again
And I’m still wandering the beach
and I’m glad I met the devil
cause he showed me I was weak
And a little piece of him is in
a little piece of me
There is a lighthouse in the
middle of the deep end
And I’m still standing on the shore line
And nobody hears me scream
I’ll lure you like a landslide
And I’ll show you lovely things
If you rescue me but they’ll make believe
The lighthouse by the sea
And the waves come crashing down
And the waves come crashing down
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)
And the waves come crashing down (and the waves come crashing down)

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
“Ya'aburnee,” the final track from Halsey’s fourth album, acts as a love letter to both her partner and her newborn baby.
The title roughly translates from Arabic as “you bury me.” According to Collins Dictionary, this phrase illustrates Halsey’s “hope that they will die before another person [e.g. her child or partner] because of how difficult it would be to live without them.”
[Verse 1]
I get undertones of sadness
When I think about the moments
That I never got to spend with you
I can't decide
If I love you more in morning
Or I love you more at night
With its luminous lux tides
Maybe in the daylight
All its pretty madness
And the complicated status
'Cause the moon don't pick sides
And the sun won't resign
Until you're by my side
Because the longing needs the leaving
And the loving needs the bleeding
And your beauty is a blessing
And I never got to tell you how
I lovе the way my eyes makе yours look green too
[Chorus]
I think we could live forever
In each other's faces 'cause I'll
Always see my youth in you
And if we don't live forever
Maybe one day, we'll trade places
Darling, you will bury me
Before I bury you
Before I bury you
[Verse 2]
I'll never know
If there's danger in confession
Or it's memory that presses
Like a blade against my throat
Another word and I could choke
But what's worse?
Tellin' you my feelings
Or to die without revealing
That you crawled inside my head
And set a fire there instead?
Letting all my insecurity
Devour me with certainty
That love is just a currency
So take my pockets, take me whole
Take my life and take my soul
Wrap me in a wedding ring
You know I swear I'd give you anything
[Chorus]
And I think we could live forever
In each other's faces 'cause I'll
Always see my youth in you
And if we don't live forever
Maybe one day, we'll trade places

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
Hemos repasado todos los 13 temas de If I Can't Have Love I Want Power en su edición digamos original o regular.
“People Disappear Here” is the Target/Walmart Exclusive track off of Halsey’s fourth studio album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.
The title of the track is named the same as the art piece Halsey curated on Nifty Gateway in early March 2021.
Halsey:
The characters are all inspired by figures that occurred in a series of sleep paralysis nightmares I had at home during the quarantine. After seven years of bed surfing hotel rooms around the world, adjusting to my own pitch black cave in California had a little bit of a learning curve.
[Verse 1]
Way down the dark alleyway
In somewhere in the Garden State
The girl from California waits
She has my name but not my face
[Pre-Chorus 1]
And I, tried to let her be someone
Hoping when the morning comes
She's not another hit and run but everybody knows
[Chorus]
The people disappear here, ah
People disappear here, ah
People disappear here, ah
Peoplе disappear
[Verse 2]
So let's say for goodness sakе
That she cleans it up and finds her way
With a child an affect of fate
And you pray, and you pray, and you pray
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Well now, maybe if you see someone
Hoping when the evening comes
You're not another hit and run but everybody knows
[Chorus]
The people disappear here, ah
People disappear here, ah
People disappear here, ah
People disappear
[Bridge]
I hurt myself to make sure I exist
I pinch myself to make sure that I'm real
I hurt myself to make sure I exist
I need someone to tell me how to feel
[Chorus]
'Cause people disappear here, ah
People disappear here, ah

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator

Halsey / If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power
Por Sebas E. Alonso
30 agosto, 2021
You should be sad‘), etcétera. Casi todas están presentes en este nuevo álbum llamado ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ que, paradójicamente, sólo suena a Halsey.
Parece haberlas producido Butch Vig.
«Me colgaré a mí misma si me das cuerda, perdí mi fe y toda esperanza», dice ‘Easier than Lying’.

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
A inicio de 2022 Halsey edita una edición especial de If I Can't Have Love I Want Power.......
https://www.nme.com/news/music/halsey-releases-surprise-extended-edition-of-if-i-cant-have-love-i-want-power-3128864

If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power
Lleva por título “If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power” y con él pretende cortar cabezas.
“If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power” esconde muchas pequeñas joyas que se van descubriendo conforme se escucha el disco varias veces.

“If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power” esconde muchas pequeñas joyas que se van descubriendo conforme se escucha el disco varias veces.

Re: Descubriendo a HALSEY VIII The Great Impersonator
Halsey Is Hitting the Road This Summer for the Love & Power Tour
The singer will embark on the set of dates in support of her fourth album, 'If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power.'
Halsey is gearing up to perform songs from their fourth studio album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, on the road this year. On Monday (Jan. 31), the singer released details regarding her Love and Power Tour in support of the project, and will visit several cities across North America.
“It’s been far too long and i could not be more excited to see you all,” the artist said on social media.
The 22-date tour will kick off on May 17 in West Palm Beach, Fla., at the iThink Financial Amphitheatre, and will conclude at the FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif., on July 9. In addition to stops in major cities such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas, Halsey has incorporated their planned festival appearances into the tour with stops at New York City’s Governors Ball, Alabama’s Hangout Music Festival and Wisconsin’s Summerfest.
The Love and Power Tour will feature support from Beabadoobee and PinkPantheress from May 17 to June 8, while The Marías and Abby Roberts will join the Grammy nominee — who is up for this year’s alternative music album award this year — from June 16 to July 9. Wolf Alice will take The Marías’ place for Halsey’s June 21 date at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Tickets for the Love and Power tour go on sale to the general public on Feb. 4 via Ticketmaster. For those that have purchased tickets to Halsey’s canceled Manic tour, a special presale will be available starting at 10 a.m. local time on Feb. 1 through 10 p.m. Feb. 3.
