I've also been recording a new Baby Woodrose album, which is ready to be mixed beginning in a few weeks. It will be called Changes Everywhere as it's really quite different from all other BW albums in many ways. More to the point and direct than Chasing Rainbows with shorter close cropped songs topped off with a sharp and punchy production.

Son enormes. Yo les he visto 2 veces: la del Azkena (que a pesar de ser a las 15:30 con 4 gatos estuvo de la hostia) y en el Gruta77...con una drogada Lorenzo de escándalo. Tocaron de milagro yo creo, peroe stuvo de puta madre en plan desfase total. Al salir estaba Lorenzo que se caía meando en medio de la calle...

a mi me gusta el segundo, luego el tercero, que es el love comes down que es el que has puesto la fotito, las versiones como que me dan igual, el primero se me hace un poco cansino, el quinto me parece demasiado turras, no digo que las canciones que me pones ahí arriba no sean flojos, pero el disco en conjunto no me gusta, como me pueden gustar el segundo y el tercero, que se escuchan del tirón.
También tengo por ahí un par de singles en vinilo que nada más que el diseño de la portada ya vale más que toda la discografía de esta gente.

Tampoco me gusta On Trial, que es el otro grupo de Lorenzo. Pero de eso ya hablaremos otro día.

Vuelvo a repetirlo una y mil veces hay conciertos en el Azkena a primera hora tan buenos como los del cabeza de cartel.En la trigésima edición del ARF igual me dais la razón.

Si es que vaya horicas para poner un concierto......Ibamos todos de culo despues de haber salido el día anterior pero bueno, yo trás ver a Sex Museum me volví al hotel y me puse a sobar un par de horas con el fin de por la noche estar de nuevo fresco

los dos primeros me parecen muy buenos, pero los siguientes ya no tanto...a ver como esta ese nuevo disco.

The first thing you'll notice when you enter the room is loud music. Then you'll see one guy slumped on the couch, another on a chair with a laptop on his knees, a third in the middle of the room, standing in front of the speakers, turning a knob on the mixing desk. No one is speaking a word to eachother, but all their ears are pointed in the direction of the six speakers of varying sizes by the mixing desk. Inexperienced people who walk in on studio work are often confused by the strange social patterns going on. Most get nervous by what they consider an awkward silence and feel they must fill the gap with words, which is possibly the most irritating you can do. Others just sit back and try to get with the vibe, but will eventually feel that they have to state their opinion about what they're hearing for some reason. Being relevant or not - this is mostly almost just as irritating. Sometimes when people walk in and ask "how's it going?" no one answers - as if it would be obvious that we're all beyond that line a long time ago.


There's simply a lot of listening going on. Naturally, it happens that someone gets restless and takes a walk around the table or maybe even out of the room, only to reappear a little later, returning to their previous position or maybe even changing places to refocus their listening. Now and then, an awkward silence will arise, but that is only when someone asks "what do you think?" or "is it better now?" and the others have lost their concentration and are not sure what to answer. Sometimes the atmosphere grows heavy with disagreement, after some time you can even feel it happening, cutting a big chunk out of the good vibe and giving everybody a feeling that the clock is ticking. Stuff like that makes you remember that you’re not here to have fun.

Studio work is a lifestyle. After a while you'll get the feeling you're on a spaceship or in a submarine - trying to find your way home through a universe you're constantly inventing collectively, but remains strangely unfamiliar and hopeless to navigate. How long it will take us to get from here to there is impossible for anybody to answer, even though the whole process is standardly mapped out. There's never any doubt what to do next, only how to do it. Personally, I must admit I find it a completely safe environment, like a womb of sounds. Dimmed lights enhances our hearing, that's a scientific fact and something I've noticed many times. I could imagine it's a bit like lab work. The pressure - deadlines, doubts and decisions - is something that belongs entirely to the world outside. I feel comfortable here, going with the flow and letting it happen – while listening to the progress of my own favourite music.

I’ve spent a lot of my time the last six months with Johan Lei Gellet in his own Studio 73, a small cellar studio with no windows and a healthy creative vibe. I have played most of the instruments, but with some contributions from people like The Adam, Sebastian Winther and Heinzz from The Setting Son all surviving on a diet consisting mostly of coffee, cigarettes, pizza and Bohemia Regent beer. I think working in a different setting with different people than usual has fueled a freshness for this album, but at this point, I’m back in the womb of Black Tornado for the finishing touches, mastering and trying to put together a tracklist. Hence the laptop. The untitled album will be released in September 2009 by Bad Afro Records.

I think we'll start the album with a song called FORTUNE TELLER. It has a good time feeling, beginning with some thick fuzz and developing into a soulful song with a catchy chorus hookline and an outro that really starts a party. Next is TAKE IT, a more uptempo garagepunk track based on a Kinks inspired three chord riff and a simple and gritty sound. OPEN UP YOUR HEART is a clean popsong that couples elements of J.D Blackfoot's Cycles and Spirit's Uncle Jack. EMILY, probably the most commercial thing I've ever done - a melancholic ballad with simple but effective lyrics that came straight from my heart. Fifth track is LAUGHING STOCK, a song that has persistently been lying around for the last three BW albums but has been changed considerably recently, leaving only the lyrics basically. To end the first half of the album, I've chosen the monumental COUNTDOWN TO BREAKDOWN - a track I'm very proud of personally. It reminds me of Neil Young's early solo albums in places, with its country jinglejangle, shaky vocal and a few psychedelic touches.
Side two of the album starts with CHANGES EVERYWHERE, another slow and moody groove with strange backwards guitars and ringing twelve string backing. Next is HOLLOW GROVE which is like a little fairytale story introducing some chimes and Rhodes. NO MAS is a girl-put-down garagepunk track reminiscent of both The Sonics and We The People. MIKITA is a simple love song with some soulful vocals and an almost country type sound. SCORPIO was recorded live to one track in one take with just acoustic guitar and vocal, later adding some Rhodes and a little tambourine. SECRET OF THE TWISTED FLOWER is more like something that could have been on Chasing Rainbows, another moody psych ballad with Hammond organ, Leslie on the drums and sitar-like fuzz leads. Finally there’s IT’S A LONG WAY DOWN which will be pulled from the album and used as an exclusive B-side. A classic Baby Woodrose rocknroll track.

Además tienen temas muy buenos, me parecen una banda especialmente brillante componiendo.

Tras haber visto el espectaculo...menuda indecencia la hora a la que los pusieron.

Pues sí, yo llegue un par de canciones tarde y con una resaca monumental pero el esfuerzo merecio la pena. Me levanté de propio para verlos a ellos y a Sex museum y ambos conciertos me parecieron de lo mejor de aquella edición.

Lo mio fue lamentable.... Llegue corriendo con sudor frio por las espalda desafiando al solano mientras tragaba el último trozo de chuleta por la gargantua y la última cola de gamba por la nariz y escuché a Lorenso decir eso de "Muchas grasias askena" después de que me hubiera puesto a soplar desde las 11:00 de la mañana para movilizar a mis tropas... no hubo manera

Then you'll see one guy slumped on the couch, another on a chair with a laptop on his knees, a third in the middle of the room, standing in front of the speakers, turning a knob on the mixing desk. No one is speaking a word to eachother, but all their ears are pointed in the direction of the six speakers of varying sizes by the mixing desk. Inexperienced people who walk in on studio work are often confused by the strange social patterns going on. Most get nervous by what they consider an awkward silence and feel they must fill the gap with words, which is possibly the most irritating you can do. Others just sit back and try to get with the vibe, but will eventually feel that they have to state their opinion about what they're hearing for some reason. Being relevant or not - this is mostly almost just as irritating. Sometimes when people walk in and ask "how's it going?" no one answers - as if it would be obvious that we're all beyond that line a long time ago.


There's simply a lot of listening going on. Naturally, it happens that someone gets restless and takes a walk around the table or maybe even out of the room, only to reappear a little later, returning to their previous position or maybe even changing places to refocus their listening. Now and then, an awkward silence will arise, but that is only when someone asks "what do you think?" or "is it better now?" and the others have lost their concentration and are not sure what to answer. Sometimes the atmosphere grows heavy with disagreement, after some time you can even feel it happening, cutting a big chunk out of the good vibe and giving everybody a feeling that the clock is ticking. Stuff like that makes you remember that you’re not here to have fun.

After a while you'll get the feeling you're on a spaceship or in a submarine - trying to find your way home through a universe you're constantly inventing collectively, but remains strangely unfamiliar and hopeless to navigate. How long it will take us to get from here to there is impossible for anybody to answer, even though the whole process is standardly mapped out. There's never any doubt what to do next, only how to do it. Personally, I must admit I find it a completely safe environment, like a womb of sounds. Dimmed lights enhances our hearing, that's a scientific fact and something I've noticed many times. I could imagine it's a bit like lab work. The pressure - deadlines, doubts and decisions - is something that belongs entirely to the world outside. I feel comfortable here, going with the flow and letting it happen – while listening to the progress of my own favourite music.
