In this interview today with radio.com, Gregg states “As for the rumor of the brothers breaking up after 45 years, in other words, after this year, that is a rumor. We are not breaking up. We are replacing Derek Trucks.”

Pues alguna historia interna hay porque son varias las entrevistas con Warren donde dice que sin Derek no tenía sentido quedarse, que la química conseguida en estos años es algo muy difícil de repetir. Cosa curiosa ya que Warren es el músico de estos últimos años que mejor encaja con cualquiera que toque con él.

A mi me extrañaría mucho que Haynes se desdijera de su 'statement' de hace unos meses, la verdad. En cuanto a los rumores que dice Gregg….fue el mismo el que lo anunció, si no recuerdo mal.

Gregg Allman Pleads For Midnight Rider Biopic To Stop Filming


Just two days after William Hurt quit his role playing the legendary Gregg Allman in ‘Midnight Rider’, Allman himself is calling upon film director Randall Miller to stop production of the film.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Allman sent his request via a personal note to Miller amid reports the director was ready to resume shooting the film in Los Angeles.

In late February, camera assistant Sarah Jones was killed on set, struck by a train while filming on a narrow trestle bridge in Georgia. Production on the film was suspended while local and national authorities investigated her death.

“I am writing to you as one human being to another, and appealing to you from my heart,” Allman said in his letter. “I am asking you from a personal perspective not to go forward. When the idea of you producing the film first came about, I was genuinely excited about the possibility of sharing my story with fans around the world. Unfortunately, all of that changed for me on February 20 of this year. While there may have been a possibility that the production might have resumed shortly after that, the reality of Sarah Jones’ tragic death, the loss suffered by the Jones family and injuries to the others involved has led me to realize that for you to continue production would be wrong.”

Allman continues by asking the director to cease production of the film out of respect for Jones.

“Your desires as a filmmaker should not outweigh your obligations as a human being,” he says. “I am asking you to do the right thing and to set aside your attempts to resume the production out of respect for Sarah, her family and the loss that all of us feel so deeply.”

La verdad es que me lo he leído en cuatro días.

Ahí lo tengo esperando turno, ahora mismo estoy con "One Way Out" y si al acabarlo aún quiero más seguiré con él. El que de momento no me atrae es el de Galladriel sobre Duane. Pero igual está bien.

Ese no lo he leído. Sinceramente no me atrae mucho, ya que realmente era poco más que una bebé cuando falleció su padre.

Ya hay fechas para las 4 pospuestas de marzo, en octubre y hacen 2 más que serán las últimas de la banda...

BAND PERFORMED TWO SHOWS IN APRIL IN FLORIDA

The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND have announced their final plans: they have rescheduled dates for four shows at New York City’s Beacon Theatre that were postponed in March: Tuesday, 10/21, Wednesday 10/22, Friday, 10/24 and Saturday, 10/25. Tickets purchased for those sold-out shows (originally set for 3/25, 26, 28 & 29) will be honored on these dates for the corresponding days (see itinerary below). Fans unable to attend the rescheduled shows can return tickets for a refund at the point of purchase prior to August 1.


Immediately following the four make-up dates, the ABB have announced the final shows for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group, which formed in 1969. These final ABB performances will also be at the Beacon Theatre October 27 and 28, a venue the band has played exactly 232 times since their annual tradition began there in 1989. On-sale information for the two newly-added shows will be announced in the near future.

The current lineup of the band--founding members GREGG ALLMAN (vocals and keyboards), BUTCH TRUCKS (drums and tympani) and JAIMOE (drums) plus longtime members WARREN HAYNES (vocals, lead and slide guitar), DEREK TRUCKS (slide and lead guitar), OTEIL BURBRIDGE (bass) and MARC QUINONES (congas and percussion)--is, at 14 years, substantially longer than any other version of the band. The group returned to the stage in April with two shows at their 10th annual Wanee Festival in Live Oak, FL, where they played to an enthusiastic sea of fans each night.

¿Qué tal el de Red Dog? El de Willie no está mal, hombre es entrañable pero no es la "octava maravilla", ¿no crees?

Pues sí, llevas razón, aunque me gustó mucho el hecho de que contase cosas desde otro punto de vista, y metido en la Gregg Allman Band y tal.

El de Red Dog es corto como el de Willie Perkins, pero es muy personal, muy hippy y con muchísima jerga. Me gustó porque me pareció muy especial, de hecho hasta ni tiene código de barras ni cosas legales. Es un cúmulo de anécdotas sin orden temporal especial, y con muchos momentos de reflexiones vitales.

Hasta la fecha yo no he leído nada que supere "Midnight Riders" aunque el de Gregg se acerca.

Skydog no está nada mal. Ambos difieren ligeramente en la formación de ABB, hay un par de sucesos que se muestran en ambos libros de forma diferente. ¡ No me preguntes ahora exactamente cuales, que no me acuerdo ! Tendría que releer esos capítulos. Pero me refiero exactamente a como formó Duane la banda.

Desde luego, no diré que estará mal el contenido, pero ediciones de este tipo no aportan nada realmente destacable, puesto que se repite el setlist una y otra vez, en el caso de Allman puede que sea interesante puesto que sólo las estructuras básicas de las jam eran respetadas, dejando libre el resto a cada músico, pero aún así, considero que no son enormes aportes.

Las Box set del Performance de Humble Pie o de la gira de Delaney & Bonnie son ejemplos claros, poner los cuatro o cinco conciertos de donde se sacan las tomas definitivas... pues no seré yo quien se trague un box set de estos del tirón, hay demasiado material de estas bandas (u otras) sobre las que profundizar antes que reincidir de esta manera.

A ver, yo tengo el deluxe del Fillmore y The Fillmore Concerts. Otra vez más no pico, no, que no está la economía para estas cosas.
Además tengo un montón de las grabaciones que la Allman Brothers Band Recording Co. ha ido sacando. Xa me chega !
