Re: ¿VOLVEREIS A VER A RUSH? EL RETOPIC DE LA MEGA-REDENCIÓN
from the mars hotel escribió:Rush Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland DVD/Blu-ray details, bonus features
Rush's upcoming live DVD/Blu-ray of their April 15th, 2011 performance in Cleveland, Ohio is titled Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland and is slated for release on Tuesday, October 25th (DVD, Blu-ray). Up until this point we only knew the title, the release date, that it was directed by Rush documentary filmmakers Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen, and engineered by Rich Chycki. But just recently some more details along with the cover art were posted to the Amazon UK listing for the DVD:
Rush's Time Machine shows in 2010 / 11 were one of the most anticipated tours ever. Celebrating 30 years since the 1981 release of their classic bestselling album Moving Pictures the band performed the entire album live for the first time as the centrepiece of the concerts. The shows also featured favourite tracks from across their lengthy career and two new songs expected to feature on their next studio album. As ever the concerts were a visual feast and sounded great with the band playing at the top of their form. Reviews for the tour have been amazing from both fans and critics alike and this DVD release is guaranteed to appeal to Rush fans everywhere. Bonus Features Alternative ending for The Real History Of Rush: Episode 2 ; Outtakes from History Of Rush: Episodes 2 & 17 ; Outtakes from I Still Love You Man ; Live from Laura Secord Secondary School (full clip from BLTS); Live from Passaic, NJ (full clip from BLTS).
So the bonus features will consist of outtakes from the intro, intermission and outro videos from the Time Machine Tour along with the full clip of the Canadian Bandstand gig that Rush played at Laura Secord High School in St. Catharines, ON in 1974 with original drummer John Rutsey on drums, portions of which were included in the Rush documentary Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage. It's not clear whether this would just be the same 2 clips of Working Man and Best I Can that were also included as extras in the documentary, or if it will include the entire show (or more unreleased footage at least). The bonus features will also include some of Rush's 1976 black and white bootleg video of their performance in Passaic, NJ. Again, it's not clear what full clip means in this context. The DVD/Blu-ray is also listed as being region free and with a running time of 164 minutes. The cover art is the familiar Time Machine Tour design with the text Live in Cleveland printed over the countdown timer which is set to 2011. You can pre-order your copy at Amazon (DVD, Blu-ray).

1974 Rush Concert to Be Released on CD
Rush‘s first recorded broadcast with then new-drummer Neil Peart, which aired in August of 1974 on Cleveland-based radio station WMMS, is set to be released. It’s due out on CD in the UK on Oct. 24.
WMMS is often credited with being a big part of the early success of the group and the station broadcast two Rush concerts that year: the August gig and also a December show, both of which were held at the Cleveland Agora.
Donna Halper was a key component of that success as the music director at WMMS during that time period. She remembers the broadcast via a comment posted at RushIsABand. She says, “One of my proudest moments was when Geddy looked out at me during that Agora Ballroom concert and dedicated ‘Working Man’ to me.”
She continued, “Some of you know the back-story, the reason why he did that. I can’t write it here for a number of reasons, but those who know are aware how much it meant to me. And thus began a 38-year friendship with the guys, one for which I am deeply grateful.”
As we await the eventual release of the new Rush ‘Time Machine’ live DVD/Blu-ray, bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee is also sharing a bit of insight into the method behind his madness for performing live.
Rush generates a lot of sound when you consider that there’s only three guys on stage. When Costco Connection asked Lee if he’d ever thought about sharing the workload, not surprisingly, his answer fell into the “yes” column.
Lee said, “Oh, yeah. [laughs] I used to bring it up at the beginning of every tour because there were times when it felt quite daunting to have to deal with all the electronic apparatus when I really just wanted to sing and play bass.
“So, yeah, I’ve had to wrestle with that question quite often. But, in the end, we’re quite a tight unit, the three of us. And we just kind of figure that our fans would rather see us up there with our technology rather than see us fill up the stage with sidemen. We opted to go the difficult route. But I did get them [guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neil Peart] to share some of the sequencing responsibilities. So that helps a bit.”
Lee does acknowledge that it can be difficult to combine the musical riffing with the vocal melodies, because there are times when the two parts are composed independently of each other. That leads to a later mental moment when it’s necessary to figure out how to put it all together.
To celebrate Geddy’s recent birthday at the end of July, we ranked the Top 10 Best Rush Albums using a scientific process involving…well, we basically just turned ‘em up really loud and made the list from there. Then, we took a look at the 5 Best Alex Lifeson Rush Songs in honor of the guitarist’s birthday.

Happy Birthday Neil Peart!
On this day back in 1952, our favorite drummer - Neil Ellwood Peart - was born in Hamilton, Ontario. Neil turns 59 today which makes him the old man of the band; Geddy and Alex both recently turned 58. I should also mention that this past Friday, September 9th, Neil and his wife Carrie Nuttall celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary. Happy birthday Pratt, and happy anniversary Neil and Carrie!

Geddy Lee Says Rush Are Gearing Up To Record New Album
Bassist-singer Geddy Lee reveals that Rush have nearly completed writing material for their next album, ‘Clockwork Angels,’ which they will begin “recording in earnest” shortly. The band hopes to release the follow-up to 2007′s ‘Snakes & Arrows’ in the spring of 2012.
“We’re almost finished writing,” Lee tells RollingStone.com. “We wound the machine back up about three weeks ago. After a sluggish start, we’ve had a very fruitful couple of weeks in terms of writing. I’m very pleased with the direction that the material has taken.”
“I think we have one or two more songs that we’d like to write, and then we’ll start recording in earnest,” he continues. “Hopefully we’ll have all of the recording done before Christmas. Then we’ll mix it some time in the next year, and then get it out.”
Will ‘Clockwork Angels’ continue where ‘Snakes & Arrows’ left off? “I think it’s a little different than ‘Snakes & Arrows,’” says Lee. “It’s not finished so it’s hard to say exactly what it will sound like in totality, but I think that the direction of ['Angels' already-released first single] ‘Caravan’ and [its B-side] ‘BU2B’ sort of points in the direction that we’re going.”
Rush plan to hit the road in support of ‘Clockwork Angels,’ although Lee is hesitant to commit to a timetable for the jaunt. “Well, there will be a tour. I can’t tell you exactly when,” he says. “Maybe the summer or maybe the fall. We need some time to organize all that, but we have started to do that at the same time. But yes, there will be a follow-up tour to support the record.”
After more than 20 years with Atlantic Records, Rush signed a deal with Roadrunner Records in August to release ‘Clockwork Angels.’

Alguien sabe de qué va esto???
http://consequenceofsound.net/2011/10/rush-readie-15-album-three-box-set-compilation-sectors/
I need info rushamigos!!! Qué me contáis???
Mierda, estoy tan confuso....

Dale alegría a tu cuerpo Macarena.

Re: ¿VOLVEREIS A VER A RUSH?

Rush Complete Recording Of ‘Clockwork Angels’
Heading into the holidays last weekend, Rush moved one step closer to wrapping up their long awaited ‘Clockwork Angels’ album with engineer Richard Chycki, tweeting this past Tuesday (Dec. 20) that initial tracking had been completed.
The members of Rush spent the past two months recording in Toronto at Revolution Sound with Chycki and producer Nick Raskulinecz. Geddy Lee has said that the first two songs from the album, ‘Caravan’ and ‘BU2B’ are a “great indication of where this album’s going,” but he also expressed that the album will have “much more variety.”
Preparing for their first album in five years, the band looked back to where they left off with 2007’s ‘Snakes and Arrows,’ and Lee says that while they were happy with the album, he felt like “we kind of overdid it with overdubs.”
This time around, they’re working to “simplify” the process to focus on making the guitar, bass and drum sounds “big, loud and clear.” Lee cautions that if they do employ overdubs, they want to be careful to make sure that it “definitely is adding and not subtracting” from the impact of the final product.
Guitarist Alex Lifeson said in an interview with Planet Rock that the band went into the sessions with five songs written, with plans to write five to six additional songs. While he says that things got off to a slow start, all of the necessary songs for the project had been written by the end of the first month of recording.
It appears that ‘Clockwork Angels’ will find the band stretching out, with most of the songs clocking in at six minutes, with three or four of those songs running over seven minutes.
Rush will head back into the studio in early 2012 to mix the project and according to Lifeson, they could be back on the road to promote the new album as soon as May or June.
