El domingo anuncian bandas, e imagino que serán un buen puñado... El año pasado el primer anuncio fue practicamente la mitad del cartel.

Es verdad, ahora que lo dices me acuerdo que me quedé bastante sorprendido con la primera tanda, cual tsunami plasmado en el cartel. Solo me extrañaba que fuese tan tarde, ya que festivales incluso de Agosto y no muy importantes tiene casi la mitad del cartel y Groez que es en Mayo (casi casi Abril), en mi opinión sale muy muy tarde

Acaban de confirmar a SNFU también. Y parece que Snuff, Broken Teeth, Devil In Me, Hundredth y Lagwagon tienen bastantes papeletas. Esperaría unos Thrice, Brand New, Tigers Jaw, Citizen,  Propagandhi o Weezer... Pero a saber.

Propagandhi quedan descartados, ya que no tocan en festivales que tengan patrocinadores. Weezer vienen a Europa a hacer tres fechas y se vuelven, además son a principios de abril. Lagwagon ya fueron el año pasado y no creo que repitan.

Yo espero unos The Bronx, Frank Carter (muy probable este), Boysetsfire, Hot Water Music (muy jodidos los dos), Thrice (ojala!)... Y también tendrán que meter cosas metaleras y de hardcore palero. Unos Killswitch Engage no estarían mal, ahora que sacan disco...

Veremos a ver. Por lo pronto ya he pillado los billetes de avión!

First the bad news:

Due to logistic problems Success had to cancel their European tour, including GROEZROCK 2016. Hopefully, we will have the chance to see them soon.

Now the good news:

You wanted names? Here are some names: Darla, Billy-Bob, Shaneequa … What’s that now? Oh, you want names of bands that are playing GROEZROCK! Well why didn’t you say so?

We really like the name Frank. And Carter is a pretty cool name, too. So guess what? Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes are coming to play some tunes.

What else do we like? Ehm … How about: Dave? We like Dave. There’s a Dave on our bill almost every year. His last name is Hause. And this time, he’s bringing people with cool names like Brendan and Neil and Dan. Wait? Really? Yep: The Falcon, featuring 2/3 of Lawrence Arms and 1/3 of Alkaline Trio, is flying to Europe for a very exclusive show at GROEZROCK.

Let’s keep the namedropping going, kids. Because PUP is a pretty good name. Another pretty Canadian name is The Dirty Nil . We also like the name Moose Blood. Don’t you?

You already heard that Rancid is coming over for a very, very, very "EXCLUSIVE" show you won’t find anywhere else in Europe this year. Well, you will have to get your ass over to GROEZROCK for some more European EXCLUSIVES. Like Chicago’s punk rockers Much The Same and pop-punks Knockout Kid, who like their songs with some delicious metallic crunch.

And – hold your breath kids! – Bury Your Dead will be playing in its original line up. Yes, those dudes may have moved on to bands with awesome names like BRING ME THE HORIZON, Emmure, All That Remains and DevilDriver. But here they are: back together for you at your favorite festival for what is yet another EXCLUSIVE performance at GROEZROCK 2016.

We hope some of you people like the name Benny. Because we have more than one this year. At least that’s what we thought when we booked The Bennies as part of an Australian invasion. They’re also bringing Hellions and Clowns to come and see if the water really spins the other way when you flush the toilet in Europe (spoiler alert: it doesn’t).

More international friends that will be joining us are Israel’s Not On Tour, Florida’s TEEN AGERS and the UK’s Muncie Girls. Those are names, aren’t they?

But hey, let’s not forget that we have some pretty good bands with names in our own country as well, little as it may be. Proudly representing Belgium are the garage-y rockers of Double Veterans, Coma Commander, Tangled Horns and Off The Cross, a new band featuring members of This Kid.

They will all be playing on the former Macbeth stage, which will now on be referred to as the WATCH OUT STAGE. As in, watch out for the bands playing there… they’re going places!
Also, this means there'll be "no" contest this year. Hell, we just wanted to book an extra bunch of cool bands we like

Oh, one more thing... we had a number of complaints last year that there were simply too many stages and too many bands. With a lot of bands playing at the same time, some of you were facing impossible choices. Quite the luxury problem indeed. Which is why this year we will have a couple less bands on the bill. And to keep things fair, we also lowered our ticket prices. You’re welcome!

No me quejo del tamaño, pues no es un grupo grande. Pero que les hagan exclusivas a bandas pequeñas me parece asqueroso.

But you still wanted more names, right? Well, here are the final three names that will round out this year’s line-up.

As you know, Rancid will be playing ...And Out Come the Wolves in its entirety, but now we have some actual wolves joining us. You might have caught these guys at last year’s pre-show, where they were so good we just had to have them on the festival. Influenced by everyone from The Bronx and Valient Thorr to Doomriders and OFF!, Belgium’s WE'REWOLVES will make you go so crazy you’ll think there’s a full moon out.

No need to look any further for tunes that will make you go batshit crazy in the pit. We already took the precaution of alerting Belgium’s Royal Observatory that they might experience some tremors once this next band starts playing. There is no way around it, Germany’s Caliban is a force of nature. It will be their 5th time here, and they’ll be presenting their bright shining new 10th album, ‘Gravity’.

And then the final name. At Groezrock you can witness beautiful, mindblowing or life-altering musical experiences. Now, with immense pride, we can say we are able to present something that will fit precisely in the categories mentioned here. It’s the stuff of legends, and a fitting salute to one of the most wonderful punkrockers of the last few decades, Tony Sly. Tony made the greatest songs, his band, No Use For A Name (Official), was a punkrockpowerhouse we unfortunately had over only once in the history of GROEZROCK. Tony was also an extremely nice and lovable guy and when he suddenly passed away, he left behind a beautiful family, a great musical legacy and a lot of friends! These friends are now teaming up with former No Use musicians Matt, Rory, Dave and Chris, to bring you this unique and exclusive show. All the best No Use songs, played by No Use, sung by Tony’s friends, and you! It’s not going to get more special than this.You are probably wondering who those friends are? Well, that is one cat we won’t let out of the bag just yet. Guess you will just have to find out at GROEZROCK.

Y no entiendo como no han metido a The Flatliners en el cartel... si los tenían a tiro!
